Your counsellor should have on this award. Download an application form by clicking FORM (or form-97 if you are using Word 97). Keep February 18 free for a short interview with the judges.
While you're completing the application materials, remember a member of the Zonta Club of Victoria is available to mentor applicants. Mentoring is for clarification only, and to assist with applicants' understanding the "bigger picture" represented by the questions. For assistance, please send an e-mail, with YWPA question in the subject line, to zonta.victoria@gmail.com
Bear in mind, your submission deadline is January 18, 2012 extended to January 21, 2012 because of weather challenges. Applicants may drop off their materials at the reception desk at St Margarets School.
What is YWPA anyway?
Zonta International believes young women are the key to women’s advancement in the field of Public Service. The YWPA awards are given annually to young women who have demonstrated their leadership skills and interest in civic causes through their work in community services and in the volunteer sector.
If you are a young woman aged 16 to 19, a volunteer and involved with student groups or clubs in your school or your community- consider entering.
A panel of judges mark and rank the applications based on a set of criteria developed by Zonta International. There are two awards: one at $1500 and the other at $750. First prize winner competes at the district level and possibly the international level.
